Offbeat Global Sessions
Offbeat Music Productions work in many musical styles from Dance, Acoustic, Classical, Indie rock, Hip Hop, Jazz, Folk and World music.
As well as producing for the Offbeat Scotland label - which has had many critically acclaimed worldwide releases - we also collaborate with many artists, singers, songwriters and bands to create world class broadcast standard recordings.
Now with the inclusion of file sharing technology we find ourselves working on recordings remotely with clients as well as here in our studio. This means that recordings you are working on in your own location can be mixed here, or musicians can be added to your recording here and sent back to you to mix yourself. This is becoming a very popular way of working. Another example of this is clients who mix there own material and send the files over a file sharing application like Dropbox for us to Master. We then send the file back the same way without the need for emailing or sending CDs and DVDs of large files.
At Offbeat set formulas are never applied. Each piece of music or song is appraised on it's own merit and a production method is devised after discussion and collaboration with the artist or band.
Using this basic approach, Head producer Iain McKinna has achieved consistent results since starting out in 1976 at Edinburgh's Southside Studios before working at Edinburgh's Planet, Palladium and Sonic studios.
