Iain "Talitha was the original US born co-founder of World Music chart topping band Mouth Music in the early 90's. She was introduced to me by Percussionist Dave Haswell after she had seen a gig at Edinburgh's Assembly Rooms in 1993 featuring me, Dave and Kirsty together in our band The Harmonics. This album was Talitha's first solo CD and it was based on her passion for Gaelic waulking songs + chants. She came to my tiny studio set up at the time which consisted of an ESQ sampler/synth/sequencing keyboard and a DAT machine. I first programmed some drum parts along with Talitha's chants which were already very rhythmic in content. I only had the chance to produce 4 tracks on the album, the other ones were produced by Chris Birkett, producer of Sinead O'Connor and Buffy St Marie. I focused on super-funk drum patterns and bass for this track and after sequencing all 4 songs we went in to Edinburgh's Palladium Studio where I then brought in percussionist Dave Haswell and Talitha brought in Mike Nolan on the keyboards. It was recorded on 2" tape at 30 inches per second using an Amek Hendrix desk. The resulting album achieved critical acclaim and also reached no3 in the US and no 12 in the European World Music charts in Summer 1994. Soon after the completion of the album Talitha was invited onto a Runrig UK tour and asked me to form a band for her with the session musicians we used for the album..Dave and Mike and eventually adding bassist Niall Muir. We appeared on TV on BBC, STV and played many live radio sessions and gigs in the UK and abroad before disbanding prior to Talitha's next album project in 1996".
