"I initially wrote this song for Kirsty to sing and although
I liked the chorus I wasn't happy with the verse. Keith O'Brien
..aka Obsie.. and I had worked together, first when he was in
a band in the 80's called One Fine Weekend, when I had produced
an album for them when Keith was lead vocalist, and later in
the 90s when I produced a series of demos for him. Keith came
by the studio one day when I was working on Searching and out
of the blue he quickly composed the verses which completed the
song. When I was working at Edinburgh's Palladium Studios in
1996 I had the chance to record the track there as a master.
Keith and Kirsty came in and sang the vocals and the track was
mixed to an Apple Mac using Protools. Keith eventually moved
to Australia and just this May he submitted the track to icompositions.com,
a site for songwriters run by Apple where the track shot to
no1 with a bullet, achieving a record for the amount of plays
in one week. The track will be featured on Kirsty's forthcoming
debut album, due for release in 2009". |
