Sincerely Mr Toad – Recording the cast
Very proud to have had the opportunity to record the cast for the hit musical Sincerely Mr Toad for London based Sell A Door Theatre Company. The production is based on a book by Artistic Director David Hutchison with music by David Wilson from Andrew Lloyd Webbers Really Useful Theatre Group.
The show stars Keith Jack and is a powerful and moving portrayal of the life of Wind In The Willows author Kenneth Graham. Keith played Joseph in Joseph’s Technicolour Dreamcoat before being cast for this production
The cast came to the studio to record their vocals for a CD of the music which was put together by talented Musical Director Ben Gordon. The singing and music blew us away here and we managed to catch a Festival Fringe performance of the show at the Pleasance Dome which was a brilliant piece of musical theatre and an emotional roller coaster. The show is about to run at the Greenwich Theatre in London from 10th to 14th September after the Fringe performances which end on Monday 30th.
**** The Scotsman Review
Playing Alastair, or Mouse, the son of Wind in the Willows creator Kenneth Grahame, Keith Jack is an integral part of the action, but the real focus is on the tragic life of Kenneth, played by a moving and dignified Adam Venus.
Almost completely fully formed, this musical is well structured with an outstanding cast. One suspects the show has been edited down from a longer piece which makes it pacy, almost to the point of breathlessness.
Sarah Borges’ Elspeth Grahame is engaging as the despairing wife and mother trying to keep her family together and Kirsty Marie Ayers’ Beth is well drawn.
